I wonder if you have said or heard the phrase “Christmas is for children”.
I think what people mean by that statement is that the ‘magic’ of Christmas is aimed at children.
The presents, the gathered family, food, tinsel, lights, and ti me off school!
I think it’s also true for us grown-ups that at Christmas we can get that
funny feeling inside which we used to get when we were children, and so it
brings to mind good memories for many of us.
So I really do get why people might say that Christmas is for children.
However, and I’m sure others will think the same thing, Christmas is also for adults.
Christmas is for adults who won’t be around any children this year. Christmas is
for those who for whatever reason won’t be able to relive the ‘magic’ this year.
At Christmas we remember that God sent his Son to the world to lead us back to
God — and that is for all ages.
At All Hallows we aim to have special events for everybody, because we believe that
Christmas is for young and old.
So, whatever your age, whatever your background, whether you usually go to a church
or not you are very welcome to join in the Christmas celebrations here!
