Thanksgiving or Baptism

Congratulations on the birth of your baby!

It is a joy to celebrate the arrival of a baby into your family; children are a blessing from God and we would love to pray with you and for you at this exciting and challenging time.

We offer two complementary services to celebrate the arrival of a baby:

  • Thanksgiving is a service in which we will pray with you for God's help to be with your child as they grow up and that they will make up their own mind about Christian faith. You promise to support your child and take care of them.

  • Baptism is a service in which parents acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord in their lives and make promises to God to bring up their children as members of the church. We will pray for God to help you in this task.

To explain more about these 2 special services and help you to work out which may be the best for you and your family situation we hold a 'Think About It' session 6 or 7 times a year. It takes place after a Family Service on the first Sunday of a month, from 11:30 in the All Hallows church lounge.

Please do be aware that it does not take place every month and so do check with the vicar for further details, by either coming to church for a Sunday service or by using the contact details on this site.

In the meantime you are welcome to join our "Mums & Tots" groups – it's a great way to get to know us.

These run every term-time Wednesday (10:00-11:30am) in All Hallows (PATCH group);
and every Thursday (1:00-2:30pm) in St Philip's (Parents & Toddlers) during term-time.
